What causes Back Pain in Females? A recent survey shows women tend to have more back pain than men. Hence women need to take more precautions than men to combat back pain. 
It is due to the rising trend of sedentary lifestyles among individuals or possibly other reasons too! The lack of physical movements and exercises can make it even worse, along with the lack of treatment. However, Back Pain can be treated with both contemporary and Ayurveda.

What are the common symptoms of back pain?


Back Pain comes up with certain symptoms which should not be neglected but must seek immediate requirements.

 

  • Having a dull, persistent ache or stiffness indicates a back pain condition.
  • If the back pain interrupts your daily routine, like sitting, sleeping, etc., it is also a sign of back pain requiring immediate treatment.
  • Back pain, accompanied by other symptoms, including fever, unexplained weight loss, and bladder dysfunction, is also a sign of serious back pain.
  • Having limited flexibility and range of motion in the back.
  • Back pain interruption with your standing ability as well as stretching.
  • Muscle spasms and a typical tightness in the back indicate back pain.
  • Feeling numb or having a tingling sensation in the back, legs, or feet indicates serious back pain.
  • Feeling a typical weakness in the body is also a sign that you have back pain.

Therefore these are a few common symptoms of back pain in your body. 


What causes Back Pain in Females? 


Females experience more back pain when compared to men. Here are a few noted causes;

 

Muscle Strain:


Muscle strain and ligaments are the leading causes of back pain in females. It is due to increased physical activity or strain applied to the back and other body parts. Hence it is one of the common causes in both males and females. 

 

Osteoporosis:


Osteoporosis is also one of the causes of back pain in females. The spine's vertebrae can become painful breaks in the bones which can become porous and brittle. 

 

Premenstrual Syndrome(PMS): 


Premenstrual is a disorder faced by women before their menstrual cycle. During this phase, women will face severe back pain and certain symptoms like abdominal pain, headache, mood swings, etc.

 

Pregnancy:


Pregnancy is also one of the causes of back pain during the later stages. The fetus puts pressure on the spine, supporting the muscles and ligaments. These ligaments stretch and soften during pregnancy. 

The pelvis becomes less supported in this case and also triggers back pain in the people. The reason for back pain is the rapid weight growth and weight gain in people. 

 

Stress:


Mental stress is also one of the causes which contribute to back pain in women. As the involuntary muscles in the back tighten, it contributes to the back as stress can worsen back pain during pregnancy, which is a major life change. 

 

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease:


Pelvic Inflammatory disease is also one of the causes of emerging back pain in women. Such symptoms include lower back pain, abdominal pain, unusual vaginal discharge, etc. All these can be hazardous if not treated properly or left untreated.

Massaging the affected area with warm oil, such as Mahanarayan or Bala Ashwagandha oil, can help remove pain and stiffness. The massaging of the body helps to nourish the body, to pacify the vata dosha, and also promote relaxation. 

 

Herbal Remedies:


Apart from having an appropriate oil massage, adapting to effective herbal remedies can also help to alleviate back pain. Some commonly used herbs include Shallaki, Guggulu, Ashwagandha, and Ginger. However, these herbs can have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. 

 

Lifestyle and Dietary Modifications: 


Ayurveda emphasizes the role of a healthy lifestyle and diet in managing back pain. Practicing gentle yoga asanas, such as the Cat-Cow pose, Child's pose, and gentle twists, can help improve flexibility and strengthen the back. Maintaining a proper posture, avoiding prolonged sitting or standing, and incorporating regular exercise into your routine are also advisable.

 

Stress Management: 


Stress can exacerbate back pain. Ayurveda recommends stress management techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, and incorporating stress-reducing activities like nature walks and hobbies into your daily routine.
